Isaiah 26:4. “Depend on GOD and keep at it because in the LORD GOD you have a sure thing.”
There is far too much instability in this world; you can never be certain that things will be as last left, expected, or reported. Benjamin Franklin once described life’s only constants as death and taxes. Even that isn’t definite! The Bible records instances where people didn’t die or stay dead. Taxes can be waived under certain circumstances.
God is the only constant in this life. He was there at the beginning (Job 38:4), will be there at the end (1 Corinthians 15:24) and is always within ear shot (Psalm 46:1). There is no fading in and out with Him, God is just there.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Luke 21:33 NIV
With so much trouble brewing and all the inconsistencies before us I am just so glad that I can hold on to God and not be shaken (Hebrews 6:19) What about you; is your soul anchored?
Think About This
Will what you’re holding onto last? What gives it permanence?
Dear Lord, May my soul be tethered to You; the Rock of my salvation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
