1 Peter 5:9.                             “Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever.”

The worst part of going through difficult times is the loneliness of it all. Some say misery loves company, but there is comfort and strength in companionship. What a blessing Christian fellowship is then! Christianity is a journey where we bear each other up physically and spiritually. It’s important to remember that when you trip and fall.

Brenda Jones reminds us that Christ suffered and even in that He is our example;

“He who lived a pure and righteous life suffered in order to please God and to save all of us from ourselves. And He who in the flesh didn’t want to suffer but denied Himself and rose up to do the will of His FATHER.

So we too must now rise, and take up the cross to follow CHRIST. That is by living seriously & soberly, watching & praying with fervent love, showing hospitality ungrudgingly with the gifts that God has given you.

Meaning, we must be serious with a sound mind, and in control of ourselves, knowing that we do have a purpose for being here on earth. Thus, we must consider our future as well as our present, knowing that our lives can be snatched away in a winkling of eye. So, we are to be calm and sensible about all things, not overly shaken by trouble, problems, or circumstances that sometimes arise within our families, congregations, society, and the world.”

Think About This

Are you ready to get up and go forth or are you not yet done lying there?

Dear Lord, Help me get up and move forward. Please remind me I’m not alone when I stumble and show me how to dust myself off and keep walking. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
