SHADES OF FEAR

2 Kings 6:17.                            “Then Elisha prayed, “O GOD, open his eyes and let him see.” The eyes of the young man were opened and he saw. A wonder! The whole mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!”

It’s easy to give up in fear. We often fail to recognize the defining moments of life. Usually when we’re caught between moving ahead with what seems impossible and giving it’s actually a chance to build character and show the kind of person we are. If only we took a proper look around, we’d see that we have all the help we need ready to spring into action.

Eva Nunoo puts it this way;

Fear makes us weak, helpless and curses us to think we alone in the world. But God has assured us that His spirit in us is greater than any worldly power. (1 John 4:4) Whenever we become discouraged by the evil we can see, we need to think instead about all the good works God is doing that we cannot see. May God open our eyes to see those chariot of fire and horses around us.

Eyes of faith see God at work in everything.

Think About This

What stops you from turning to God and asking Him to step in the situation?

Prayer

Dear Lord, Sometimes I let fear scare me blind. Please open my eyes that I might see the wonders You work on my behalf. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
