Titus 1:15.                    “Everything is clean to the clean-minded; nothing is clean to dirty-minded unbelievers. They leave their dirty fingerprints on every thought and act.”

The things you surround yourself with determine who you are. The person you will become five years from now is decided by the books you read and the company you keep. This is why the Bible urges us to study to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15) and warns us to be wary of bad company (1 Corinthians 15:33)

The Bible being ever practical, also gives us guidelines for our thoughts; both idle and precise. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Philippians 4:8 NIV

Jesus emphasized this point in Matthew 15:10-11

“Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”” NIV

So what do you want? To be pure of heart and clean-minded or to leave dirty fingerprints behind?

Dear Lord, Help to think about only that which will honor You. It’s so easy to become distracted in this world. I rely on Your Spirit for grace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
