“Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute— you’re already there waiting! Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.”Psalm 139:7-12
Amerley crouched low on one knee as they assessed the situation. Things seemed safe there wasn’t any movement in her line of sight and no one else had raised an alarm so the other must not have seen anything either. Even though she knew this was only a game, Serious thoughts came to Amerley’s mind. She felt like the toy donkey they were ‘protecting’ from the ‘enemy ‘ on this training exercise. In her case though she didn’t need several protectors because God could see everything; God was everywhere. That was pretty cool, she thought. She was surrounded by the Lord of Hosts.
God is omnipresent. That means He is everywhere all the time. If we put on our best behavior on Sunday at Church because God is there, shouldn’t we be on our best behavior come Friday night when we want to have fun? A Christian’s life is consistent. God’s omnipresence isn’t meant to be a scare factor; having us constantly looking over our shoulders. It’s reassuring to know that no matter where you go or what you do God is right there with you. We often use the expression ‘Godforsaken’ but that expression is a lie; God never forsakes us.
I’m so glad You are always there. Keep me forever by Your side. In Jesus name. Amen
