Romans 5:8 But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

It was Jessie’s Chosen day and she was thrilled!  She was always more excited on her Chosen day than on her birthday.  Jessie’s birthday parents dropped her off at the orphanage when she was 3 months old and never looked back.  To her, being born was just an accident of biology.  Being chosen however was entirely different; Mama and Papa had been on several visits to the orphanage looking for a child of their own.  They found Jessie one bright and sunny day and that settled that.  They picked her up that very first day and loved her.  Jessie was 10now and they still loved her.  It was a special kind of feeling; made her feel as though she was the most important person in the world.  No wonder she loved Romans 5:8

We all know that special feeling; it’s when you get picked first to be on a team or when you get a party invitation.  It’s even better when it comes unexpected.  How wonderful to feel that way all the time.  That is what God promises us in Romans 5:8; actually He has already done it!  Way before we were born God knew we’d be coming along and He picked us out Himself.  No matter how naughty we’ve been we have the joy of knowing God loved us then and God loves us now.

Think About This

Can you believe how much God loves you?  How can you show how much you love God?

Dear Lord,

Thank you for loving me even when I didn’t deserve it.  I love You so much, please help me show you how. Amen
