2 Timothy 3:16 Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.
Josie skipped home from school excited about what she had learned in Robotics class that day. You see every machine had a manual; the way its parts were laid out and how they worked. If something wasn’t working the way it should, you could always check the manual and figure the problem out. As soon as she got home, Josie pulled out her jack in the box and opened the bottom. She flashed her light around until she saw a little level out of place. Holding her tweezers carefully she gently put it back in place, wound the jack up and beamed with delight as it popped up the way she should. Manuals were such a great idea.
The Bible is the Christian’s manual. Whatever situation you find yourself in the Bible has a verse that fits. Angry? Read James 1:19&20. Not sure of what to do? Check out 1 Peter 5:7 Got some good news? You’re not alone – Psalm 16:9. Maybe you’re sad all the time and don’t know why; God does – Proverbs 12:25
Reading the Bible is one great way to discover God’s plan for us and to live according to His plan. A daily reading just makes sure you know what to do whenever you get stuck. You could try reading the bible from cover to cover by reading a chapter a day.
Think About This
How do you feel today? What are you going through? What does the Bible say about that?
I never really know where to turn when I experience new or troubling feelings or when I’m unsure of what to do. Help me understand Your Word to be true and a guide for my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
