Genesis 9:11     I’m setting up my covenant with you that never again will everything living be destroyed by floodwaters; no, never again will a flood destroy the Earth.”

Second Chance Just Ahead Green Road Sign Over Dramatic Clouds and Sky.

Jessie walked down the corridor of her new school; people smiled at her as she passed by.  That felt good.  Things would be different here she was sure; nobody knew her or her past.  There would be no comments about what her big sister did or didn’t do in school.  She could be her own person here and she liked that idea.  Jessie was glad she had parents who listened to her concerns.  Now she had to live up to her end of the bargain and be a star pupil; that was the deal she had made with her folks.

‘Second chances’, ‘do overs’, ‘turning a new leaf’, ‘making resolutions’.  These are expressions we hear the most at the beginning and end of the year.  People think they’re being given another chance to make all the wrong things in their lives right.  You don’t need to wait for the earth to go round the sun before you can change something in your life.  God gives you that chance every second of your life.  He gives you something else as well; a solid promise that He will forever be your God, your protector, your provider and your friend.

This is an open promise to whoever wants to access it.  We’ll look at all the goodies that come with this promise as well as our responsibilities to it in the coming days.  For now though, if you want God’s promise to hold over your life; invite Him in and spend some time getting to know Him through prayer and Bible reading.

Think About This

Do you like the way your life is now?

Is there any way you can improve it?

Does God feature in your current plan?

Dear Lord,

Your word tells me You make all things new.  I want a new life, a fresh start,, a second chance to make things right.  Please be a part of my life and show me how to live the life You want me to live.  In Jesus name I pray. Amen
